SMS read/unread 1.02
Anish Sane
Do you miss the feature from earlier javabased phones, where you can mark an SMS you have received as'unread'?Well, with this small app you can enjoy that feature again. Now, you can claim that you did receive the SMS, haven't yetread it. ;-)A note about the permissions used by this app:Read & write SMS: To mark them as read/unread.Read contacts: To convert the sender numbers to names, in the wayyou have saved to your address book.Notes for reviewers:I have tested the app to be working on my phone.1. However, there may be cases, when the app crashes on some otherhardware. In such a case, (before down-rating the app), please "report" thecrash to google, so that I can try to rectify the issue.2. This app, "SMS read/unread", uses the default android databaseused for storing the SMSes, to mark the SMS as read/unread. Somemessaging apps (e.g. Google hangout) do NOT use this defaultdatabase, but they use their own copy of that database to fetchthese SMSes. They may have their own reasons for doing it. Hence,if your messaging app is one of such apps like hangout, then youwill not see updated read/unread status in your app. However, themessaging apps, which are provided by the phone manufacturer,*usually* use the default android database.I had experimented that the SMS read/unread status does showchanged in my default messaging app. However it remains unchangedas seen in google hangout, whether I mark the message as read fromthis app, or from my phone's messaging app.Unfortunately, there is nothing much I can do about this issue.Sorry about that. Thanks for trying.
